Tomatis Professionals

These webinars have restricted access to only those professionals trained in the Tomatis Method. Information pertains to the original Tomatis method as designed by Dr. Alfred Tomatis himself. Tomatis is a sound therapy that targets developmental building blocks as it also calms anxiety and provides grounding for a client. Targeted goals could be in the motor system, speech system, as well as in executive functioning and attention. There are 4 levels of training and each webinar contains information for all 4 levels of programming. Listening tests are discussed and case studies are highlighted. Viewers would have to e-mail with their Tomatis credentials verified in order to access these webinars.

Sensory Processing

If you have a child with developmental delay or are working with children who experience developmental delay in the many shapes and forms it takes, then you will find support and understanding in these webinars. Sensory Processing is divided into two different areas: Sensory Modulation and Sensory Discrimination. Gain information on the theory, but also the practical application of the theory, including intervention ideas that really work. Find answers in developmental building blocks that will allow you to know where intervention will be most helpful.

Executive Functioning

If you are interested in knowing more about organizational skills, attention, working memory, goal persistence, then this would be the section to browse.Discover the building blocks to executive functioning and the different aspects of this complex are of functioning. Know what it takes for a child to be able to read, to do math and express themselves in written expression. Understand why a child is having difficulty understanding how much can be done in a certain time and have the ability to pace themselves calmly through homework.

This section contains information on the multi layered facets of autism and it’s multiple complexities. Different theories are discussed as well as different interventions that may be helpful. It is important to view an individual with autism as a profile and not to be “bound” by the diagnosis. While we accept the individual completely as they are, we also raise the bar in assisting them to become all that they can be. We target the areas that can create change and an easier ability to deal with life. We entice the child to join us in our world by first understanding them and joining theirs. We believe children are more than what their behaviors tell us and afford effort in “chasing the why” to understand root causes of behavior.

Emotional Processing

We all know children who struggle with containing their emotions, dealing with them and losing control, experiencing meltdowns. Children who struggle with developmental delay in their central nervous system, also struggle with emotional developmental delay as their sensory experiences holds them back and they avoid the very play activities that will assist them in growing and maturing emotionally. Discover different theorists that makes sense to us. Understand the nature of development of the separation-individuation process, the building of autonomy, self esteem and the contributions of anxiety.
